The hardware in a RAM is heavy-duty by design. A 5.7L HEMI, a 6.7L Cummins, or an AISIN transmission out of a truck totaled in a collision has plenty of service life left — the accident didn't touch the drivetrain. That's the case for buying used here rather than paying dealer prices for the same casting with a new part number.
RAM fitment is where it gets specific. Gas or diesel, 2WD or 4WD, single or dual rear wheel, and axle ratios that have to match front to rear — none of that shows up in the model name. Give us the year, model, and VIN and our team confirms engine configuration, transmission family, and ratio before anything is pulled. A 2500 part sheet and a 3500 part sheet diverge fast, and chassis cabs diverge further still.
Trucks carry more configuration variables than anything else on the road. Here's what to check. Still unsure? Call 1-800-606-1107.
Rarely. The half-ton and heavy-duty lines run different frames, axles, brakes, and often different transmissions. Some cab and interior parts cross over; almost nothing in the drivetrain does. Send the VIN and we'll tell you definitively rather than guessing off the badge.
Considerably — and it also matters which emissions generation you have. Cummins hardware changed with the DPF and SCR systems, so turbochargers, exhaust components, and some transmission pairings aren't interchangeable across the range even within the same displacement. The VIN sorts it out.
It's on the differential tag, or in the RPO codes on the glovebox sticker. On a 4WD truck front and rear ratios must match, so we verify both before shipping an axle assembly or differential. Mismatched ratios will damage the transfer case.
Yes. Chassis cabs are a distinct category with their own axles, frames, and driveline lengths, and we treat them that way. Tell us the upfit configuration if the truck has one — a service body or flatbed can change what fits.
Both are stocked. They're separate platforms from the pickups — the ProMaster is front-wheel drive, the City is a different vehicle again — so we source them as their own line rather than pulling from truck inventory.
It is if you match it correctly. Towing capacity comes from the combination of engine, transmission, axle ratio, and cooling. We verify the transmission against your exact application so the truck keeps the rating it was built with.
Yes. Older RAMs stay in service on farms and job sites, and donors keep coming through our yards. Availability shifts week to week, so call rather than assuming it's gone.
If we VIN-matched it and it's wrong, we cover the return and replacement. Every eligible order also carries the 90-day warranty.
