A steering column is rarely just a shaft. Yours may carry the ignition lock housing, immobiliser ring, clock spring, tilt motor, or an electric power steering motor and torque sensor, each tied to a specific part number.

Most used steering columns run between $180 and $650, depending on the vehicle and how much electronics the column carries. A basic manual tilt column sits at the low end; an electric power steering column with a torque sensor sits at the top.

Not by default. A donor column arrives with the donor's lock cylinder, so it needs your original cylinder transferred or a locksmith to rekey it. Tell us when ordering and we can supply the column without the cylinder, which most shops prefer.
Yes, when they are inspected properly. Every column is checked for shaft play, universal joint binding, and bearing wear, and the tilt, telescope, and lock mechanisms are operated through their full range before it ships. Anything outside tolerance does not enter inventory.
