Two things make used the sensible route on a Hyundai. The first is price: a Theta four-cylinder or a Lambda V6 out of a low-mileage donor runs 50–70% below a dealer replacement, and it's the same factory casting. The second is availability. Hyundai retires models faster than most manufacturers, and once a Veloster or an Azera leaves production, the parts counter thins out quickly. Salvage is often the only route left.
Fitment needs care either way. Hyundai has run each nameplate through several generations, with engine and transmission variants changing inside them. Give us the year, model, and VIN and our USA-based specialists confirm the exact variant before anything ships — that's what stops a right-looking part from being the wrong one.
Generation changes, discontinued models, and a Genesis question we get constantly. Here's what to check. Still unsure? Call 1-800-606-1107.
For the older cars, largely yes — the Genesis sedan and Genesis Coupe were sold as Hyundais before Genesis split off as its own brand in 2015. Post-split vehicles are their own line, though they still share some engine and platform hardware. Send the VIN and we'll tell you which side of the split yours falls on and what cross-fits.
That's a large part of what we do. Discontinued Hyundais are where dealer supply dries up first, and salvage becomes the practical route. Availability varies week to week, so call rather than assuming a part is gone.
Check before you order. Hyundai often changes generations mid-nameplate, and 2014 to 2015 was a redesign year for the Sonata. Engines, mounts, and body hardware all shifted. The VIN resolves it in seconds.
It matters. A Santa Fe could come with a four-cylinder or a V6 depending on trim and year, with different mounts and transmission pairings. Model name alone isn't enough to order a long block against.
Certain Theta II engines were covered by manufacturer recalls and extended warranties, so check whether yours qualifies for a free replacement before buying anything. If it doesn't, a tested used unit is the affordable route — we compression-test every one and publish donor mileage.
Yes. It's a newer platform so volume is lower than the sedans, but donors are coming through. It shares a good deal with the Tucson, which widens what we can match.
We carry the conventional systems these share with any modern car — ABS modules, airbags, steering, climate control, suspension. High-voltage components are a separate category with their own handling requirements, so call to check current stock.
If we VIN-matched it and it's wrong, we cover the return and replacement. Every eligible order also carries the 90-day warranty.
